Gregory asked:

Hi, I like the idea of the American ‘Big Brother’ scheme were you spend a little time each week with a disadvantaged child, taking them out or showing them around your workplace etc etc.

What can I do that’s similar in the UK? Which charities are the most reputable? I am a 22 year old guy, currently half-way through RAF selection with time to kill and no brothers or sisters of my own.

Cheers!

These schemes are normally run by local charities. You should contact your local Volunteer Centre (google your town and volunteer centre). Reputable charities will register mentoring opportunities with them.
If you are in Peterborough or Cambridge, email me as my daughter manages schemes in these towns.
